new dump! E Mo Dao
now THIS is another one I've been after for what can only be described as a long-ass time. once again this comes from Qiezei's 8 in 1 - it's another Vast Fame game (hell yes) and it's an action game, so it's considerably more accessible than their RPGs for all you non-Chinese-speakers out there. It's called "E Mo Dao" (惡魔島) literally "Devil Island", also known as "Devil Land" (from the multicart menu).
Basically it's a clone of Konami's Getsu Fuuma Den gameplay-wise, but aesthetically closer to Castlevania, and for my money it controls better than the original did (though it can be hard to avoid enemies at times, much like Zook Hero 2). Music is excellent as usual, the graphics are really nice, and all around its just a good package.
Anyway, enjoy! No need for a fix this time, I think (but if you have any issues with saving please let me know)

Just a note for anybody playing this: first, you can hold down B to rapid-fire your attack, which makes things easier since the game likes to spawn fast enemies. Secondly, your default weapon actually has some decent range. It's hard to tell due to the animation, but you can safely hit stuff like the scorpions from a higher/lower platform without getting close to where you get hurt. Just throwing that out there for anybody playing this.
also, since its not immediately obvious, I should probably mention that you have to pause the game and use A and B to switch weapons/items.

Btw I'm at some part with three stairs, and the one at the right side sends the player STRAIGHT to the start. Tried hexhacking the movement, but no luck because the RAM editor in VBA is totally confusing. :
Another thing: I've completed 99% of it, and only those stairs can supposedly lead me to the ending... :(

惡魔城 (e mo cheng) is the Chinese name for Castlevania, theres an alt version of this game called 惡魔城2.
There's also Sintax's game called 惡魔城DX, of which a demo version is dumped (but the full version isn't) which is entirely different and a reasonable attempt at a GBC Metroidvania-style game.
& Zook Z isnt coming from this cart, thats for sure (I already sent it back to Qiezei) but its definitely one of my higher priorities... not that that's a guarantee of anything, i have made literally zero progress on vfame's single cart games.
oh and just for the record re: kage's problem, if anyone else gets stuck there, look for a map of Getsu Fuuma Den because the final boss is in the exact same place.

That is assuming the full version was released, I've never seen it. There are other Sintax games that are basically just graphics hacks of it though.
The main header identifies it as "MOON ACT V1.0". (The first character of "Getsu Fuuma Den" means, of course, "moon".) But that's not all! The string "GETSUFUU" is further down in the ROM.

Funny trivia: 惡魔島 can also be the Chinese name for the Alcatraz Island prison in California. Although 阿爾卡特拉斯島, more or less a direct transliteration of "Alcatraz Island" is used too
Taizou the full version of castlevania dx is dumped already. However i am still interested if there is a clone or a translation of this game out there somewhere.

Reply to 19: I wanna create a english patch as my first real translation project, won't be that hard. Funny thing, I originally thought my story would be that the the game takes place in the 21 century, and after looking at the intro for a little bit, it said 20XX in one of it's lines. So I wasn't far off from the story! Just gotta translate the story first.
Somehow, this game doesn't work on VGBAnext 5.3.9.

I don't know of any English version, but that's not to say one doesn't exist. There was a single cart version released in Taiwan and China called 惡魔城2 (Emo Cheng 2) though.
There's a Lord of the Rings-based hack of this game which has some English text in the ROM, so that version may have been released in English at some point.
